With a rich history spanning over 1,500 years, Japanese horseradish intrigues scientists for its potential antioxidant and cognitive benefits, driving the research and creation behind the WASAbis supplement.

WASAbis supplement contains WASABI Sulfinyl™ – extracted from carefully-selected domestic true wasabi, health-promoting component, 6-(Methylsulfinyl)hexyl isothiocyanate (6-MSITC), and is produced under strict quality control in Japan.

WASABI Sulfinyl™ is extracted from the grated rhizome of true wasabi, with the distinctive pungency component of wasabi removed. 6-MSITC is the main health-promoting component of WASABI Sulfinyl™ found in the rhizome of true wasabi. Wasabi’s health benefits are hindered by its strong flavour, limiting consumption. Most commercially available wasabi products blend it with horseradish and contain additives, reducing intake of 6-MSITC.

In terms of anti-ageing, 6-MSITC promises more than a high anti-oxidising effect, as it has recently been found to also exhibit certain effects on cerebral neurons. While it had been thought that dead neurons do not regenerate, recent studies have shown that new cerebral neurons are created and grow to supplement dead neurons.
